So Bill from Spark Werks already has shipped out my new restored 205H distributor and it’ll be here in a few days.
He supplied me with some maintenance instructions, that quite frankly I don’t think I ever realized to do, but of course, that’s why so many used distributors look like shit.
Now what he does is disassemble the entire unit, blast and replate the metal, installs new bushings and other internal components, installs new diaphragms in the cannister, and then tests them for the appropriate curves and functioning.
This is the one I’ll be getting.
It looks fantastic.
So clean and new!
I won’t lie. I have never lubed a single distributor.
I hope it resolved some of Murbella’s idle oddity, but of course, given the apples to oranges comparison of the engine after rebuild, it will be hard to say.
It definitely looks better than a pile of unrestored distributors.
