I posted about Jason’ Swan’s amazing metallic orange 1303 cabriolet way back in December 2018.
It is truly one of those rare beasts in which every decision he’s made to the car works perfectly with every other choice, be it a mod, a color here or there, a pattern in something. Just perfection.
He recently posted a video walk around with the new interior he had done. It is breathtaking. And he’s given me permission to share it.
Is it all “me”? Absolutely not.
Is it close to me? You betcha! Probably more than I’d like to admit.
I love the door card choices and repeat of it on the seat fabric is wonderful.
The way he’s brought the interior body color up onto the dash… total perfection.
Bringing the body color onto his engine tins, and blacking out the engine bay walls makes it all pop like a little jewel when he opens up the decklid. (Going with other black/black chromed elements works so well.)
His clean choice to mount the coil on the top of the case, opens up a clean face to the face shroud.
He’s deleted the oil filler, or at least modded it to be elsewhere, hidden out of the way.
The darkened rear tail lights add to the way the orange works with the black.
He’s made effective user of the stock dash guage, and then used the space well for the guages he’s add.
The painted bumpers with inset turn signals are gorgeous. (It is the exactly look I want for Żuczek once his fender turn signals are shaved.)
Now I must admit, I’m still partial to his earlier use of the silver Porsche wheels.
Those style of wheels have truly grown on me over the years. If redone as a black or black chrome it would be stunning.
I just can’t warm up to the current wheels he’s running. There’s just so something un-me about them that I don’t think I’d ever likely run something like them. Just too different for me.
Well… and if you’ve read me long enough… you know I’m not a mamba shifter guy at all and why I am not a mamba shifter guy.
Now since I originally was planning for a take on the 1974 Bright Orange as a metallic for the Żuczek restomod, you can probably see why this car calls out to me even more.
Of course, I’ve shifted to more metallic purples in my plans, but almost every choices he’s made would be something I’d likely executive but swapping orange for purple or, for the interior, dark grays.
