So instead of dealing with the really rusted set of flaps I have, and instead of trying to figure out whatever bin the AH engine’s flaps are in, I decided to just buy a fully restored set for Murbella from Awesome Powdercoat.
He also makes and sells something that exists nowhere else – a brand new 80°-85°C opening range Fuel Injected Thermostat!
So she’ll get her flaps back, a proper thermostat, and the return of all her EGR functionality.
Do I need to do this? No.
Do I have to kind of do this? Yes.
I mean, the entire goal of this car is to keep her as stock as possible or return her to stock where she’s been robbed of that.
