So after a lot of back and forth over the year, and knowing that it is completely unrealistic for me to have 2 project cars given the space, my capabilities, and my income, I decided to put I Am Curious (Yellow) up for sale in the as-is roller/chassis that he has been in since the engine died.

The 74 is moving to another part of the state and was bought by someone who will hopefully fix him and love him and enjoy him.
I had been back and forth over the latter part of the summer on either selling him as-is or spending the time and money to finish all the brake work that he needed done as well as using the AE engine from Żuczek as a core to freshen up and at least make the 74 start, stop, and get around.
However, given the recent issues getting Żuczek running right, as well as the time commitment to that engine as well as additional rebuild parts costs I would not have gotten the 74 even on the market until November and if that would have been the case, he may as well have just gone up in Spring 2020. I needed the driveway space back so I decided to put him up as-is and there was a lot of responses, but many of them had no idea what they were even looking at nor did they even read the ads.

Finally, someone who wanted a Beetle project contacted me and came out and looked at. After an hour of going over the car and talking about it, he put a down payment on it and picked it up today.
Yellow has a new caretaker for the foreseeable future.
And I hope the buyer can make him into whatever he feels he needs Yellow to be.
I’m sad that he’s gone but he’s gone to a better home than I could end up giving him. And now I have the space to start on the 72’s expected 5 year long restoration.
Goodby My Yellow Beetle. You’ll be missed.
