So I’ve been jotting down ideas for the interior, especially the dashboard and gauges for future Żuczek and I keep coming back to the Dakota Digital 1958-77 Volkswagen Beetle Digital Instruments cluster, which is more or less a drop in set of gauges and sending units.
Now the only color output options are blue or teal, which kind of is limited but I suppose I can live with the blue.
I’m not a fan of the billet aluminum, but I’m wondering how easy it will be to paint or powder coat the metal, or possibly even just swap the gauges out into something else.
The 72 1302 dash, much like decades of standard Beetles, is so basic and simple that it should be easy enough to do and just put whatever in.
Now the $675 for these is a lot, but that does include all the sending units as well and adapts to the existing speedometer cabling.
I like the fact that the Quick Start Manual and a more detail Setup Guide are readily available. I’m not seeing anything that will be difficult, especially with the whole car having all new wiring anyway.
