Well. Spring prep to work on the cars has started.
The goal of the next few weeks will ultimately be to get Murbella’s rear suspension installed and her new bearings and hubs in so I can get her on wheels and back as a roller.
To that end, the driveway of dead vehicles needed to be rearranged to make space not only to roller her into, but also to stage tables and such for some wood sawing and assorted cutting that needs to be done to replace our deck steps as well as finish off all the trim on the garage that never got completed.
I thought it would be an easy thing to move the other half’s Buick Encore project, but instead of just jumping it (as we’ve done in the past), it just wouldn’t jump at all. I know nothing about vehicles this modern, but hopefully it is a blown fuse or something simple.
We found out how to manually unlock the electronic gear shifter so it could at least be moved farther down the drive. That meant Żuczek Brzęczyszczykiewicz got moved down further and it would leave plenty of space for Murbella to roll into as well as work tables, benches, parts, etc. whatever we need for the spring and summer work ahead. (The driveway is the only place that actually gets much sunlight to work during specific hours of the day. Everything else is pretty much shade and sometimes, you need the light!)
I’ll clean up the drive and, when the power washer is serviced, perhaps really deep clean the concrete of all the oil that has dripped/drizzled onto it.
Then there’s the garage.
So when I wrapped up work last Autumn everything in the garage was in order. My suspension parts were where they needed to be. My bins were sorted. My consumables and tools were all put away.
It is pretty much a disaster in there and geez, go figure why I hate when anybody uses my stuff and space.
Zero respect at all. Zero.
I don’t even know what kind of tools I’ll have missing. I am sure things are missing everywhere, since my son and his friends would just open drawers and take things to jerry-rig whatever.
Three concrete blocks are there from some kind of motor cyle work.
I’m fairly certain my Lock-tites are all used up and or left open, not to mention my brake cleaners are all probably gone.
