So after all that back and forth in May 2020 and the eventual purchase of CB Performance 2280 Cheater Cam) I decided to just go back to stock and bought a new stock 4-rivet dished gear cam.
The more and more I talked to people and the more and more I read, the variable of that 2280 with the L-Jetronic Fuel Injection is just something I really don’t want to deal with. I just don’t have time to deal with idle issues and such, with no real means to fix them other than to tear down the engine and replace the cam so it is better to be safe than sorrry.
This engine rebuilt is just meant to be stock, and it was dumb of me to even try to want to mess with the tolerances given a non-adjustable FI.
So. It’ll be back to stock when I start building.
Oh. Snagged some new halogen headlights for Murbella too. Not that I drive her in the dark all that much, but this basic improvement will make a huge difference.
