So either MotorTrend did not have access to all episodes of Wheeler Dealers or who knows what but the Tivo has been snagging some that I am shocked I have never seen before and one of them deal with a car I had zero knowledge of: the TVR Cerbera.
Season 10 Episode 6 introduced me to this gorgeously beautiful British car that was produced only between 1996 and 2003. And only 2000 or so were produced during that period!
This car is just…. just amazing to look at.
The body lines are beautiful, reminding me of early 70’s Nissan Fairladys blended with some Jaguar styling, mixed in with a bit of Porsche here and there.
And the cockpit? Oh the cockpit!
The dash lines and those curves on the center console are just amazing.
Given the era, there’s none of the clutter of a touch screen. Just simple. Clean. Gorgeousness!
Now apparently one of their major faults is an issue with the tube chassis powder coating basically flaking off and allowing corrosion to basically destroy it from the inside out since most of the body is fiberglass or plastic.
Watching Ed China remove the body from the chassis was something. It was not all that unlike a Type 1 in the general concept of body on chassis, though the floor pans are not a part of the chassis assembly.
Man… to have one of these on the roads in the US would be amazing since there’s nothing like it visually around. Then or now!
