Now I have very little space to work.
I have a 90+ year old garage that barely fits 2 small cars. I’ve managed to make it work the past 2 years but we have never really been able to park 2 cars consistently, even in the winter months.
When I started working on the Beetles, I need to utilize the space better so added some shelving units for parts bins, some tool carts, reused some kitchen cabinets I found to put liquids and stuff up and out of the way, and then of course a work bench where things could be spread out.
Building an engine was easy, but putting it on a stand to run it and break it in proved challenging in the space.
So. Finally. Today. I got around to putting caster rollers on the damn running pallet I use.
BY THE GODS! What a massive difference.
Instead of this thing that just sits there wherever I put it, I can now move the thing around, in and out of the garage, etc. with total ease.
So stupid of me not to do this first, but frankly, I would have thought the engine would have been in Żuczek already.

Now the wheels I found at Harbor Freight fit the pallet base rather too fine. There was not a whole lot of available space to drill.
I almost ofset the base on an angle to drill into the center of the wood but I figured this would be fine for now. I also only used to bolts per base instead of the 4 to save money. Will that bite me in the ass in the future? Who knows.
But the fact I can now easily move around to run it makes a massive difference. Especially on a daily basis when space is needed for other work.
