The car will ultimately be a hybrid style, somewhere between German Look, but less Porsche influenced and more of my own personal tastes.
I foresee zero chrome, with painted bumpers to match (or be a step off) of the body color that I end up with.
I’ve been all over the place from the original metallic orange to evoke my mother’s Super to dark grays and am not even considering some pearlescent purples.
The interior is up in the air. I may return the padded dash to the car. I may not.
I may go for something really custom or I may just end up with all black stock-ish vinyl.
The turn signals will probably be shaved and replaced with Euro/Mexican style turn signals in the front bumpers.
However, I plan on doing 2 sets of fenders.
The first set will be flared with a traditional German Look set with the darkened tail lights. The rears will be from a 73 1303 to allow for the “elephant feet” lights I love.
The second set will be the original set with the 1303 tombstone style lights.
Both sets will be in the same color and will allow me to completely change the look and feel of the car just by swapping fenders.
The wheels will likely me some form of aluminum, possibly anondized, in a shade to contrast with the body color in the traditional 70’s Ansen Mag style. This is also a nod to my mother’s original 74 Super’s dealer package rims.
The tires will be obviously dependent on the wheels, but they will be substantially larger and wider, with clearance up front offered probably by Topline maxistruts.
The rear stance will be dropped about 2-3″ from stock but not slammed. Never slammed. The rear may be slightly less dropped, and the rear tires may even be larger.
Then again, I’ve changed ideas in the past year so who knows how this will take shape and money and time start to come into play, especially for the areas that I myself cannot learn to do.
